About Robert

Robert is a Sydney-based graphic designer and photographer. Robert specialises in all aspects of graphic design, both print and digital.

Robert is currently working as a freelance designer, drawing on his extensive experience from client-specific, freelance and industry-based work. For the past six years, Robert worked as a graphic designer for a construction company, producing magazines, newsletters, high-end tenders, expression of interest, pre-lease proposals, web banners, capability statements, brochures and general marketing collateral.

In design school, he took up photography, which gave him additional abilities to express creativity and build a strong portfolio. Robert regularly works with Sydney-based fashion label Alicia Hollen, photographing the brand’s campaigns.

In addition to strong corporate design experience, Robert is the art director of the Australian Armenian Art Advisory Council, which promotes and encourages young artists, designers and photographers by holding annual exhibitions and events. He was responsible for production of the first book of Australian Armenian Artists, developed from the 9th Biennial Art and Photography Exhibition. In 2015 Robert was involved in organising the first exhibition of Australian Armenian artists at the Museum of Modern Art in Yerevan, Armenia. The exhibition featured works by eleven artists including Robert’s own work. Participating artists travelled to Armenia for this very successful exhibition, which gained interest in the Armenian media

Robert won first and second prize in Black and White photography at the 9th Biennial Art and Photography Exhibition as well as winning first prize in black and white photography at the 10th Biennial Art and Photography Exhibition. The Modern Art Museum in Yerevan has acquired four of his pieces as part of their permanent collection. 

He believes in being creative and unique as well as practical. Taking an idea and manipulating each aspect to achieve something clever and beautiful yet practical is an extraordinary experience. Designing is like a recipe for the perfect meal, combining creative thinking, colours, patterns, paint, structure, photography to produce something unique and tasteful – satisfying both designer and client.
